The Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans were on opposite ends of the spectrum last year. The Chiefs went 2-14 and picked first overall in April’s NFL Draft, while the Texans won the AFC South and a playoff game. It seemed plausible that Kansas City would be able to turn it around, but Cheap Jerseys Website it has been surprising to see Houston turn around the other way.

Foles sustained a head injury on the last play of the third quarter in yesterday’s loss to Dallas when he was thrown to the ground by Cowboys defensive linemen George Selvie and Jarius Wynn. The back of Foles’ head struck the turf violently, and after being assessed on the sideline by the team’s training staff, he was replaced by rookie Matt Barkley. With Michael Vick already sidelined with a hamstring injury, if Foles does not clear neurological testing this week, Barkley would be pressed into action next Sunday against the New York Giants.

Much has been made about the Jets’ quarterback situation in 2013, but their defense has been routinely overlooked when talking about the league’s best. On Sunday they held Tom Brady and the Patriots to under 300 yards of total offense with Rob Gronkowski back in the fold. There’s still work to be done on making Geno Smith more reliable in the pocket, but this defensive front could be enough to make a push in the second half of the season.

Loss aside, the Patriots have to be happy to see Gronkowski back in the fold. He wasn’t able to get a touchdown in his first game back from injury, but he gave Brady a much-needed safety net when plays broke down. The offense will get an earful from head coach Bill Belichick, but it will be able Cheap Jerseys Throwback to take shape when they’re out of a hostile division environment and away from one of the best defenses in football.

When the Vikings signed Josh Freeman, the move looked like a decent gamble to see if Freeman could be the long-term starter in Minnesota. That may still prove to be the case, but his debut on Monday left a lot to be desired. Instead of talking about his play on the field, ESPN announcers Mike Tirico and Jon Gruden spent most of the game questioning Minnesota’s decision to start Freeman less Cheap Jerseys Wholesale China than two weeks after he signed.

That discussion continued during the postgame show with Steve Young criticizing the decision.

“It was brutal to try and watch him run a professional offense,” Young said. “In the end, Leslie Frazier decided, ‘I’m going to play him’ — maybe because my job is on the line and I want to get lightning in a bottle. But it was so obvious before the game that he was not going to be able to call the plays to get the job done.”

Fellow ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer was also critical of the decision to start Freeman 13 days after he signed in Minnesota.

In many ways Sunday’s game was similar to a game between Carolina and Arizona in 2011, when Steve Smith used the same kind of feints to confuse Patrick Peterson. Smith is often overlooked when it comes to the discussion about the game’s top receivers. Former Buccaneers cornerback Ronde Barber called him “the hardest player he had to cover” in a radio interview from 2012, meaning there’s no Cheap Jerseys Toronto reason for a young player to be ashamed.

That being said, these plays for Smith can become a blueprint for teams to follow against the Rams with Finnegan out. The defensive staff has to do a better job of giving their corners support against quick-twitch receivers, especially with the potential of Percy Harvin seeing the field in week eight, followed by Kendall Wright and T.Y. Hilton.

Top prospect to watch: It’s unknown whether or not USC wide receiver Marqise Lee is playing in this game because of a lingering knee injury. Lee may have three games of 90 yards or more receiving this season, but he’s not as dynamic of a player. While some of that is due to the Trojans’ quarterback play, Lee is in need of a big game. He only had 75 yards receiving against Notre Dame last year, and look for Irish cornerback Bennett Jackson to play him physically.

Keep an eye on: Morgan Breslin has been battling injuries all season, but when he’s played, he’s been good. He’s a speed rusher around the corner and has shown this season he can drop in coverage. His availability is also up in the air because of a hip injury.

More to watch: Junior Troy Niklas is the latest in a growing line of Notre Dame tight ends. He’s a good all-around player who should be a bigger part of the Notre Dame offense. Redshirt sophomore running back Tre Madden has had several splash plays for USC this season, in the pass and run game. He’ll have a hard time running the ball against Notre Dame’s talented defensive line featuring Louis Nix in the middle and Stephon Tuitt at end.

Phillips battled illness late in his life, including a respiratory ailment earlier this year which forced him in and out of the hospital. Shortly after the news of his father’s passing, Wade tweeted that Bum would be missed by all.

Despite a defensive front stacked with pass rushers like Olivier Vernon, Cameron Wake and rookie Dion Jordan, Miami has failed to put much pressure on quarterbacks in Cheap Jerseys USA 2013, and has only 13 team sacks through five games. Thanks in part to that lack of pressure, they are allowing nearly 400 yards Cheap Jerseys With Free Shipping of offense per game and rank 27th against the pass.

The Atlanta Falcons entered Sunday’s game with huge holes at the wide receiver position. Julio Jones was already lost for the year with a foot injury, and Roddy White was ruled out with hamstring and ankle issues. That left it down to Harry Douglas as the No. 1 receiver, but he’s making the most of his opportunity Cheap Old NBA Jerseys against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

At halftime, Douglas is shredding the Buccaneers’ defense, recording six catches for 140 yards and a touchdown. His big first half was highlighted by a 37-yard score, in which he broke wide open and made an easy catch from Matt Ryan.

Douglas has spent several years serving as Atlanta’s No. 3 receiver behind Jones and White, and has never had a real chance to step up until this week. He may not continue this torrid pace with the Falcons nursing a 24-10 lead, but they are sure to be pleased with his efforts on Sunday.

The Kansas City Chiefs lead the Houston Texans, 14-10, at the halftime mark in Sunday’s Week 7 matchup.

The Texans went with Case Keenum as their starter this week over Matt Schaub and T.J. Yates. Keenum has been surprisingly effective so far, completing 8-of-12 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown, hooking up with DeAndre Hopkins on a 27-yard score.

Points have been hard to come by so far. The Chiefs took an early lead on a 1-yard run by Jamaal Charles, but have otherwise struggled to move the ball against Houston’s defense. They did manage to take the lead at the end of the first half, when Alex Smith led them on a 15-play, 97-yard drive that ended with a quarterback keeper to give them the lead.

Houston’s running game is a major concern. Arian Foster left the game Cheap Old School NBA Jerseys with a hamstring injury and has been ruled out. Ben Tate does have 49 yards on 11 carries.

David Baas left Monday’s game early in the first quarter due to an MCL injury, according to Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News.

Baas missed a significant portion of the NFL Jerseys From China preseason and the regular season opener due to a previous MCL injury and Monday’s injury is in the same knee. According to the report, Baas was scheduled to undergo a MRI on Tuesday to determine the severity of the latest injury.

“But I’m just trying to stay positive and get healthy again. I mean, I can’t catch a break, man,” Baas said, via the New York Daily News.

If the injury forces Baas out of the lineup, Jim Cordle will likely replace him in the lineup. Cordle has started three games this season.

This season was different, though. The Bears have three great targets in the passing the game in Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery and Bennett, the type of big pass catchers Cutler always called for. The line was solid. Trestman’s playcalling was world’s better than anything Mike Tice, Mike Martz or Ron Turner ever did. Cutler was playing the best football of his Bears tenure on an expiring contract. It would be a shock if he didn’t return the Bears next year, but the groin injury certainly throws a wrench into negotiations.

It’s Cutler’s third serious injury in five seasons, on top of two concussions he’s sustained. He just can’t catch a break, and with it neither can the Bears. Cutler is sublimely talented and should rewrite the Bears’ paltry passing record books, but somehow Sid Luckman — who through his first pass in 1939 — continues his stranglehold as the best quarterback in franchise history. It’s truly sad.

Injuries to Bears quarterbacks are nothing new. In Nike NFL Jerseys 2014 the ’80s, the Bears had two promising seasons destroyed when Jim McMahon was taken out.

The Cleveland Browns are struggling through another season.

For a moment this year, it seemed the Cheap NFL Jerseys Paypal Browns were onto something with Brian Hoyer at quarterback. After the team traded a former first-round pick, running back Trent Richardson, for a future first-round pick, it looked like the tank job was underway.

With all this, Sam Bradford has remained classy beyond his years, and it’s why – when he was injured – Rams fans took it so very hard, and rightly so. This season, he came out of the starting blocks like the rest of the team. Young, talented and excitable to the point that blocking the front or back of an opposing player was all one, the team had growing pains. When the team faltered, the crush of fan dismay fell on Bradford’s wide shoulders.

Surely the reason ROOKIE Tavon Austin hasn’t score 38 touchdown in the first weeks of the season was that over-hyped, over-paid, Sam Bradford? How hard is to catch the ball? It must be that damn un-elite bastard at quarterback? Taken in stride with all he’s been through to date, Sam looked reporters squarely in the eyes and said his team would get better, and never threw a teammate under the bus for miscues. He believes in his team and coaches, and I can’t help but think it’s why guys like Harvey Dahl went nuts when his young field general lay writhing in pain on the sidelines this past Sunday.

This injury to a young man Rams fans all like, respect and admire, hit them hard. It should, because Sam Bradford is the kind of goofy kid we all like and want to call friend.

Four teams – including the San Francisco 49ers which will likely open as chalk of two touchdowns or more – face double-digit spreads in Week 8, and two more could join the fun this week.

The New Orleans Saints are laying 13 points at home to the Buffalo Bills, while the Denver Broncos, despite a Week 7 loss, are a 14-point favorite against the Washington Redskins. The Seattle Seahawks are huge 11.5-point road favorites at the St. Louis Rams in the Monday Night contest, while San Francisco is expected to open around -16 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

The Kansas City Chiefs, at 7-0, are the only remaining unbeaten team. They are a nine-point favorite early Tuesday over the struggling Cleveland Browns, and many experts predict that spread will balloon to double digits.

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers visit the Minnesota Vikings in a game that remained off the board early Tuesday. The Vikings looked terrible on Monday night against the New York Giants and open as double-digit home dogs.

The week kicks off with another big road favorite. The winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers get seven points at home opposing the Carolina Panthers.

After staying in the Intensive Care Unit, it was determined Finley suffered a spinal cord bruise. Finley has since regained full movement throughout his body, although there Cheap Jerseys To Design is no timetable for his return.

The Chicago Bears also lost two very important members of their team. Quarterback Jay Cuter tore a groin muscle in Chicago’s 45-41 loss to the Washington Cheap Jerseys Throwback Redskins, putting him out for at least four weeks. Linebacker Lance Briggs is also out 4-6 weeks after hurting his shoulder.

For the Detroit Lions, left tackle Riley Reiff (hamstring) and right tackle Corey Hilliard (knee) both had to leave the game against the Cincinnati Bengals at various times. It is unknown if either will miss games going forward. Cornerback Rashean Mathis also had to leave after re-aggravating a groin injury.

Panthers in no-lose situation if they use franchise tag on Kawann Short

The clock officially is ticking on Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Kawann Short.

Either a long-term deal will be reached before March 1, or the franchise tag will be applied between Wednesday (first official day to use the tag) and then while the two sides continue to work toward a long-term deal.

Coach Ron Rivera said during Super Bowl week that the tag “probably” will be used. It may not be applied Wednesday as Carolina wants to show it is negotiating long-term in good faith. The list of possibilities for Peterson is probably longer than those three teams, but if he did become a free agent, it would take the right set of circumstances — a team close to winning, a role at running back and possibly a personal connection — for him to land there. Here’s a look at some of the places Peterson could end up, some more realistic than others.

The Hall of Fame selection process is supposed to be solely about the players’ on-field accomplishments; that point was again hammered home this year by voters who discussed Owens’ exclusion. But I would be remiss if I failed to mention Urlacher’s popularity inside the locker room. Urlacher didn’t use the media to deliver messages. He was a true leader, not some phony locker room politician. Urlacher was a person almost everyone in the building looked up to and respected. It’s no surprise the Bears’ locker room leadership fell off a cliff when Urlacher was forced out after 2012. The Bears have never filled that void.

No one is perfect. Urlacher probably has some regrets — the most obvious being the Bears’ inability to win a Super Bowl.

But Urlacher carried himself with dignity and class on the field and at Halas Hall for 13 years.

He is a Hall of Famer in every sense of the word.

Cowboys to spend more on practice facility than they did on their stadium

The Cowboys, luckily, won’t foot the entire bill. They’re partnering with the city and the schools, who will act as part owners. According to the Dallas Morning News, the city will be responsible for $60 million and the school district will owe $30 million. The Cowboys will pay for the rest.

As you can see below, there’s still some work to be done to get it looking like a $1.5 billion facility:

Here’s what the Cowboys new practice facility The Star in Frisco is looking like these days pic.

There are 31 NFL teams, and then Jerry Jones’ Cowboys, a team that operates in a completely different universe. If only their recent off-the-field accomplishments translated over to the actual football field.

During Monday evening’s Rangers/Athletics game in The Coliseum (which the A’s would win, 3-1), a young A’s fan made a very nice grab on a Rougned Odor foul ball down the left field line. The full story is much better than just a kid making a nice grab, though.

Check it out, and pay attention to the discussion by the broadcasting crew.

So earlier, that same kid missed a catch but the girl was nice enough to give him the ball anyway. The boy was fortunate enough to get another chance and made good on this one. At the urging of his father, he repaid the favor and all was right with the world. I love the look between the two dads, too.

Rocking Horses: The Rocking Horses celebrates the Triple Cities’ rich history as the “Carousel Capital of the World.”

Last summer, though, Boykin bristled about wanting to play not just in the slot, but on the outside. Just south of two months later, Chip Kelly shipped Boykin to Pittsburgh in exchange for a fifth-round pick. We praised the deal at the time, noting that Pittsburgh acquired a player with far greater talent than the cost they paid. Considering the Steelers’ needs in the defensive backfield, it seemed likely that Boykin would see heavy playing time. That did not happen. He was on the field for only 24.7 percent of the Steelers’ snaps on defense.

It’s great that Jones feels comfortable, but the reality is pretty simple: Ryan will be judged successful if the Bills win. If they don’t, he’ll be a failure. In related news: Buffalo is coming off a disappointing 8-8 season. They’ll need to improve on that in 2016 if we want to avoid the inevitable “Ryan’s on the hot seat” hot takes six months from now.

Titans become latest team to ink TE, sign Delanie Walker to extension

With Mike Mularkey doubling down on “exotic smashmouth” by drafting Derrick Henry to pair with DeMarco Murray (and adding Jack Conklin to help pave the way), the Titans look like a team that could be leaning on a tight end in the passing game.

It’s why the Walker extension, part of a larger trend of big tight end contracts this offseason, makes a lot of sense.

Don’t be surprised if Mariota leans on his top receiver from last year again in 2016.

For the first time in 10 years, ESPN’s Monday Night Football will have a new play-by-play man in the booth when the NFL season kicks off.

The network announced on Monday that veteran sportscaster Sean McDonough will be replacing Mike Tirico as the play-by-play guy on Monday nights.

Tirico, who had been in the Monday night booth since 2006, is leaving ESPN after spending 26 years with the company. The announcer is headed to NBC, where he’ll begin on July 1.

AFC North

I have a feeling this is the year the Steelers get back on top. The Martavis Bryantsuspension hurts, but if there is any position where the Steelers could withstand that blow — and find plenty of candidates to step up — it’s at receiver.

It would be hard to imagine them having the same run of bad injury luck as a year ago and I believe this defense is making baby steps. Big Ben will have a monster season.
If the Steelers stay healthy, watch out.

Meantime, the Bengals have lost ample talent and suffered a lot of brain drain to their coaching staff in recent years and that takes a toll. They are a little old in key spots on defense and I was never a big Andy Dalton guy even when he had his full array of weapons. The Bengals are accustomed to having starting hot and having others chase them, but the schedule is a beast this time around with four of the first six games on the road. Not only that, they to face the Jets, Steelers, Broncos,Cowboys and Patriots in that span.

The Ravens are on the rise but I believe they are still one more draft away from being back to their usual place in the pecking order. If the youngsters lead the way and this draft is a home run, they’ll push for the playoffs again, but having so many older players coming off significant injuries (Steve Smith, Terrell Suggs) is a concern. Is there a fourth team in this division? I forget sometimes.

Ansah, who hails from Ghana, believes the game is growing in his home continent, which would be an important factor for the NFL when deciding where to take the game next (because money).

“I think now that there’s a lot of Africans playing this game, I know the young guys coming up have been picking up on the game,” Ansah said. “When I went there I met a few guys that are eager to learn the game. It’s evolving in Africa.”

It’s worth noting that back in February, Marshawn Lynch went to Africa to ride some camels and help spread football. And now, just two months later, Africa is being mentioned as a possible NFL destination, which can only serve as proof that Marshawn Lynch can do anything he sets his mind to.

Now, if only he’d set his mind on an eventual NFL comeback.
