The Atlanta Falcons entered Sunday’s game with huge holes at the wide receiver position. Julio Jones was already lost for the year with a foot injury, and Roddy White was ruled out with hamstring and ankle issues. That left it down to Harry Douglas as the No. 1 receiver, but he’s making the most of his opportunity Cheap Old NBA Jerseys against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
At halftime, Douglas is shredding the Buccaneers’ defense, recording six catches for 140 yards and a touchdown. His big first half was highlighted by a 37-yard score, in which he broke wide open and made an easy catch from Matt Ryan.
Douglas has spent several years serving as Atlanta’s No. 3 receiver behind Jones and White, and has never had a real chance to step up until this week. He may not continue this torrid pace with the Falcons nursing a 24-10 lead, but they are sure to be pleased with his efforts on Sunday.
The Kansas City Chiefs lead the Houston Texans, 14-10, at the halftime mark in Sunday’s Week 7 matchup.
The Texans went with Case Keenum as their starter this week over Matt Schaub and T.J. Yates. Keenum has been surprisingly effective so far, completing 8-of-12 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown, hooking up with DeAndre Hopkins on a 27-yard score.
Points have been hard to come by so far. The Chiefs took an early lead on a 1-yard run by Jamaal Charles, but have otherwise struggled to move the ball against Houston’s defense. They did manage to take the lead at the end of the first half, when Alex Smith led them on a 15-play, 97-yard drive that ended with a quarterback keeper to give them the lead.
Houston’s running game is a major concern. Arian Foster left the game Cheap Old School NBA Jerseys with a hamstring injury and has been ruled out. Ben Tate does have 49 yards on 11 carries.
